There are many and varied ministries within the parish. But it is only by the good will of volunteers that these tasks are done. The more people we have helping the better, otherwise left to a few people only, what was a service willingly given can become an onerous chore. We urgently need more people to be involved in all ministries. If you can help by doing a ministry, then please come forward. Thank you to those who volunteer for ministry already.

HAITI APPEAL
You will have seen on the news how this massive earthquake (7.0 on the Richter Scale) has devastated the capital and people removing rubble with their bare hands in search of survivors. Amazingly survivors are still being found and saved over a week since the earthquake destroyed so much and taken so many lives. With so much destruction and the threat of aftershocks, up to three million people are in urgent need of shelter, clean drinking water, food, clothing and medical supplies. The response of people and international governments and Aid Agencies has been overwhelming. I know that you will be concerned about the plight of the people affected by this disaster and will want to do what you can to help. Please be as generous as you can. Thank you. The Freecycle Network is made up of 4,878 groups with 6,919,619 members across the globe. It's a grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving (and getting) stuff for free in their own towns and thus keeping good stuff out of landfills.
